I’ve been obsessed with the 70’s aesthetic for a while now. There’s just something about the seventies that makes me feel so happy and free. I had to study the make-up and hairstyles of this era when I was still in school and I just fell in love. Anyway, I created a seventies inspired lookbook and I had so much fun shooting it, it’s been a while since I really enjoyed filming a video like this. I guess it’s more about showing my true self and interests rather than the specific outfits. I hope you like it :-).
On Thursday I went on a little day trip with a real Volkswagen van. I’ve always wanted to do a little roadtrip with friends, so I can get that off my bucket list. Some good food + nice weather + great company = the perfect summer day. We had so much fun driving around, I wish the trip lasted longer! Hopefully, one day I’ll get my own Volkswagen van to drive around in.
I don’t think I have mentioned it before but I am going to California upcoming september. Am I excited? YES! I have been to this place so many times now but I never get sick of it. This year I am going with my friend Melanie with whom I started New Moon Magazine. I think it’s going to be so much fun travelling with her since we are both vegan and into photography and art. A huge reason for me to start blogging again is because I want to share my travel stories and photos, especially since I will be exploring some new places in California.
Checked in at The Dutch hotel in Maastricht, so cool. The hotel is located in the upcoming district: Wyck. The hotel has a 80’s vibe to it, it’s modern and luxurious. My sister got us the extra large room with disco theme for my birthday (best present ever). We ordered gin tonics in the ‘jungle’ and my sister danced around in our huge room while I Insta-storied my life away.
This hotel is not like any other hotels I’ve ever been to. The building and decor have so many nice details, I didn’t know what to photograph first. The lobby has a Smeg fridge with free drinks and popsicles, a lot of boardgames and a book shelf with stylish books about travel and fashion.
If I ever find myself flying back to Bali, I will for sure stay another night at villa Casa Ocean View (located in Canggu). The bohemian interior was just so inspiring and I felt right at home. There’s 3 villa’s on the private property, all with a cool bathroom and spacious bedroom. I had the shared pool all to myself because I was the only guest staying at the villa while I was there for 3 days. It took me 10 minutes on a scooter trough beautiful rice fields to get to my favourite restaurants and cafe’s in Canggu and only 3 minutes to get to Echo beach.
Seriously the coolest Airbnb I ever stayed!
I do miss Bali. I miss the friendly faces, the amazing vegan food options, the little streets and markets and of course.. the nature. My last days are unforgettable due to my stay at the Theanna Eco Villa & Spa resort. I do not need a lot of luxury while I’m traveling but I am so glad I could end my holiday in Bali feeling so relaxed and pampered. In the middle of the busy streets of Canggu there is a resort surrounded by tropical birds and palmtrees.
The staff at the resort is absolutely wonderful. Even though they didn’t offer any vegan options on the menu (because sometimes you have to explain what the word means in Bali), they did everything to make me the perfect meal. The kitchen staff even made me vegan strawberry pandan pancakes for breakfast.
Every villa has it’s own private pool and relaxing area. The villas are spacious and include a large bed, a semi outdoor shower and bathtub, a huge closet, TV and locker. Everything you need and more basically. I will definitely go back to this wonderful place.
